Pause a Recurring Payment

Temporarily stop upcoming recurring payments without cancelling your payment plans.

There may be times when you need to temporarily pause a recurring payment. This can apply if a customer requests to delay upcoming payments, if you need to verify billing details, or if payments should temporarily stop for administrative reasons.

When Can a Recurring Payment be Paused?

Recurring payments can only be paused when their status is Active and before the next scheduled payment attempt. If a payment is already in Processing status or marked as Paid, it cannot be paused.

How to Pause a Recurring Payment

1. On the Home page, click the RECEIVE card.

Note: it is worth noting that you can also access the Receive Payments page through the Menu and select Receive.

2. Select Recurring Payments to display the recurring payments history. Learn more about viewing recurring payments history.

3. In the Recurring Payments History page, locate and select the recurring payment you wish to pause. Selecting the recurring payment will open up the transaction details page. At the bottom of the transaction details page, select Pause Subscription. A confirmation window will appear, select Pause It.

4. Once the recurring payment has been paused, no other payment attempts will be attempted. The status displayed at the top of the transaction details page and in the recurring payment history will be Paused and in orange.

5. After pausing a recurring payment, the option to Reactivate Subscription and Cancel Subscription will be available at the bottom of the transaction details page. Learn more about cancelling a recurring payment.
