Sending a merchant referral
In this article, you will learn how to send a merchant referral to Cashflow.io. A merchant referral gives Cashflow.io the information needed to review fit, schedule the next step, and begin the merchant onboarding process.
You can submit a merchant referral using one of the approved referral paths:
- Partner Portal referral form
- Email referral to Cashflow.io
- Warm introduction
- Internal handoff from a processor or ISO team
Sending a referral through the Partner Portal
Step 1: Log in to the Partner Portal.
Step 2: Go to the referral or merchant submission area.
Step 3: Enter the merchant information requested in the referral form.
Include the merchant’s company details, contact information, payment needs, current processor or gateway, accounting or ERP system, and the problem they are trying to solve.
Step 4: Review the referral before submitting.
Make sure the merchant name, contact information, and opportunity details are accurate.
Step 5: Submit the referral.
After the referral is submitted, Cashflow.io will review the merchant fit and confirm the next step.

Sending a referral by email or warm introduction
When sending a referral by email or warm introduction, include as much of the referral checklist information as possible.
At a minimum, include:
- Merchant name
- Primary contact name
- Email and phone number
- Website
- Current payment processor or gateway, if known
- The payment workflow or business problem the merchant wants to solve
- Timeline or urgency
What happens after the referral is submitted?
After a referral is submitted:
- The referral is received.
- Cashflow.io reviews the merchant fit.
- A discovery call may be scheduled.
- Merchant onboarding requirements are confirmed.
- Pricing is confirmed.
- The merchant account is created.
- KYC/AML data is collected, if required.
- Processor or gateway connection is completed.
- Merchant training is completed.
- The merchant goes live.
